Program Overview
The Vocational Training & Livelihoods program equips youth and women with hands-on technical and vocational skills that enable them to earn sustainable incomes and improve their quality of life.
The program targets out-of-school youth, unemployed young people, women, and young mothers who face limited access to formal employment opportunities.
The Challenge
Many young people lack access to practical vocational skills, startup resources, and mentorship needed to participate meaningfully in the economy.
As a result, unemployment and underemployment remain high, pushing families deeper into poverty and economic insecurity.
Our Solution
We provide market-driven vocational training combined with entrepreneurship and livelihood support to enable participants to create their own employment.
Training areas include:
  • Tailoring, garment making, and fashion design
  • Hair dressing and beauty therapy
  • Cookery, bakery, and food production
  • Interior decoration and event styling
  • Small-scale manufacturing (soap, candles, shampoo)
How We Implement the Program
Training is delivered through practical workshops, community-based training centers, and apprenticeship-style learning.
Participants are supported with:
  • Entrepreneurship and basic business skills
  • Financial literacy and savings through VSLA groups
  • Mentorship and life skills coaching
  • Guidance on market access and customer engagement
Program Impact
Participants gain employable skills, start small businesses, and generate income to support themselves and their families.
The program reduces dependency, strengthens household resilience, and contributes to local economic development.
