Elderly Support for Seniors

Program Overview
The Elderly Support for Seniors program serves elderly persons living in remote villages and underserved communities across Uganda.
We restore dignity to seniors through food support, safe shelter, medical care, and the everyday essentials many of them have gone without for years.
The Challenge
Many elderly persons in rural Uganda live alone, in collapsing houses, without proper toilets, beddings, or access to medical care.
With family members migrating for work or lost to disease, seniors are often forgotten—facing hunger, illness, and unsafe living conditions in their final years.
What We Provide
Our support is practical, dignified, and delivered directly to the elderly in their own communities.
Our interventions include:
  • Food support—maize flour, beans, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and other essentials
  • Building safe houses for elderly persons living in collapsing structures
  • Constructing pit latrines / toilets to improve hygiene and dignity
  • Medical care, treatment, and routine check-ups in the villages
  • Distribution of beddings, mattresses, blankets, and bedsheets
  • Companionship visits, prayer, and pastoral care
How We Implement the Program
We work with local councils, parishes, and village health teams to identify the most vulnerable elderly persons in each community.
FIRM teams visit each beneficiary, assess their needs, and deliver support directly—often staying to share a meal and pray with the seniors.
Program Impact
Elderly persons regain safe shelter, regular meals, improved health, and the comfort of knowing they are not forgotten.
Communities are reminded of the value of caring for their elders, and a culture of intergenerational compassion is rebuilt.
