Eye Glasses Project

Program Overview
The Eye Glasses Project restores vision and dignity to children, the elderly, and vulnerable persons who cannot afford basic eye care.
Through community outreaches and partnerships with eye-health professionals, we provide free or subsidised eye glasses, vision screening, and referrals for advanced care.
The Challenge
Thousands of Ugandans—especially in rural and underserved communities—live with uncorrected vision problems that limit their ability to learn, work, and live independently.
The cost of an eye examination and a simple pair of glasses is out of reach for many families, leaving children struggling in school and the elderly isolated at home.
Our Solution
We organise vision-screening camps, partner with optometrists, and deliver eye glasses directly to those who need them most.
Our interventions include:
  • Free community vision screening camps
  • Distribution of free or subsidised reading and prescription glasses
  • Referrals for cataract surgery and advanced eye care
  • Eye-health education in schools, churches, and villages
  • Follow-up support for beneficiaries
Success Stories
Our success stories—captured on video—showcase children who can read again, elders who recognise loved ones, and workers who have returned to productive life.
Video testimonials and impact stories will be featured here as part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and shared celebration.
How We Implement the Program
We work with schools, parishes, local councils, and partner clinics to identify beneficiaries and host outreach events in their communities.
Each beneficiary is screened, fitted with appropriate glasses, and—where needed—referred to qualified medical facilities for further treatment.
